Starting an Internet Business: Questions & Answers

So you are thinking that you’d like to wake up without an alarm clock, go to work in your pajamas, spend more time with your family and have more money to spend on them. Your bright idea is to start a business. Not just any business, but an Internet business.How hard can it be, right? Come on, there are tens of thousands of fools on the net making a killing so why not you?
Well, here’s why:
You are probably one of the majority of folks that would love to start your own (Internet) business. So you think about it, research it, discuss it with some family/friends. Then you research some more and you even sign up for a Google Fast Cash system for just $2.95 or even buy an ebook or two on how to make make money with Adwords, etc. etc. etc.
Then within the first few days/weeks/months, you decide that you’ve been scammed and just give up or what’s more to the point is that you never even start reading your materiasl to get you started. So you just keep preparing for that one day when you’ll get started on your Internet business.
Well guess what? If you aren’t willing to take definitive steps TODAY and every day towards your goal, it ain’t happening. You’re going to be one of those people who talks like a big player but will never even get to the minor leagues.
You’ll pathetically whine in the bleachers and talk about how you ‘could’ve’ made it in the big leagues except for…and the excuses roll in.
- Fact: millions of NEW Internet users pop-up every year.
- Fact: there are ordinary people making extra-ordinary income.
- Fact: many of these people have never stepped onto a college campus.
- Fact: many of these people have masters, PhD’s or medical degrees and have GIVEN up their chosen field for a more lucrative Internet business.
- Fact: your biggest factor is YOU. Your negative self talk is worse than anything anyone can say to you.
- I suggest that if you are going to create any sites, a website or a blog, then use WordPress and host it yourself. It is the easiest platform you can learn with the most flexible tools that are literally plug & play. The best part is that WordPress and 98% pf the plugins I use are FREE.
- Hosting: I use Hostgator, so I’m biased, but here are a few others too:
- If you want to make money by blogging, then be prepared for it to take a while unless you find a super hot niche with very low competition. However, Steve Pavlina & John Chow have amazing advice for you if you want to make money blogging.
- If you want to take a short cut and be a kick ass affiliate marketer, then I highly recommend my personal PPC Coach and also picking up a copy of Perry Marshall’s Definitive Guide to Google Adwords (hundreds of pages of the best info for PPC marketing).
- You can even take the beginners route and just start advertising affiliate products from Clickbank, PayDotCom and other types of digital publishers. Then after doing that a while you may want to go ahead and create your very own ebooks so you can keep 100% of the profits. Once you make your own ebook, email me and I’ll get you started on the ‘funnel’ concept to stream more business your way.
- You will need a Pay-Pal account if you don’t already have one. It’s free to sign up. They’ll need to verify a real bank account, but many of the affiliate networks uses Pay-Pal as a form of payment.

Many people do not ever get around to starting an Internet business because they are afraid of everything that is involved. Contrary to popular belief it is not that hard to start an Internet home business of your own. Here’s a look at the most common questions and answers you might have about starting an Internet business.
1. How expensive is yet to get started?
Because most people want to start a business on the Internet to make money they do not have a lot of money to invest. You may be surprised to know that there are many Internet businesses you can start online for free!
Again, I spent about $3,000 which is a hell of a lot less than the $120k plus for my first salon & over $1.4 million for the gas station, but I am of the mindset that even $100 is a lot of money and needs to be invested wisely.
You can also purchase on existing online business which you can even find on Ebay or Craigslist.
2. What is the best Internet business to get started with?
A good rule of thumb is to find something that is interesting, or possibly you have a passion for. Because there are so many products available to sell in the affiliate marketing business model, you can always get started this way and find products that relate to the niche you have a passion for.
Niche marketing is one thing you will see online a lot today and this is where you target a specific market and try to make money with it. This is a great way to start an Internet home business.

3. Do I need any special training?
You certainly do not need a college education to become an Internet marketer. However, starting an Internet business and making it successful are two totally different things. To run a successful business on the Internet takes skills and you must invest time to acquire the knowledge it will take to become successful at the level you strive to be.
I’ve come across many people with both brick & mortar & internet businesses that fail because they do not have an entrepreneur’s mindset. They’re too caught up in their own egos to really take the steps necessary to make their business successful.
One of the common attributes of a real entrepreneur is the ability to self teach. In order to do this, you have to have inner motivation and self discipline. If you have these things, you are ahead of 80% of folks who try to open their own business.

4. How many hours a week do I have to work?
Once you get a system in place, and are successful, you can run an Internet business on just a few hours a week. There are numerous examples of people who spend no more than a couple hours a day to earn thousands of dollars every week. Others are extremely happy to earn an extra few hundred dollars a month and control their schedule.
I personally spent about 12-14 hours a day when I first started my online ventures (well, I spent that many hours when I started my brick & mortar businesses too), but the difference is comfort. It’s certainly much easier to put in those hours in the comfort of your own home.
Now, you can certainly start with less hours if you have a full time job already. Just be patient and know it will take longer unless you jump head first into PPC marketing as described above.

I had promised in the last post that I would have some great resources you to make some real money in this crappy economy. I am still working on a comprehensive list, but this one was too good for me to wait to pass on to you.
I’ve gotten many comments and emails about the scams you’ve been involved in due to sheer desperation in trying to keep your lights on. Lots of these get rich today companies understand how frantic you are to create an income today because your mortgage was due 18 days ago and you hope to pull it together by the end of the month before it hits your credit.
Well, I found a system I will review for you that will show you how you can earn money from home. They don’t promise rags to riches by next week, but they do offer a genuine program to make money working from home with My Data Team.
I Bought It
99%of the time, I will advise you to stay away from any program that asks you to pay for information that you can usually obtain on the Internet for free. I purchased this one since it seemed like it wasn’t promising an overnight millionaire status and because it seemed very unpretentious with tons of valuable information included, and it turns out they don’t use advertisers so they can provide you with information they deem most valuable.
By the way, if you run across the site MyDataTeam.com, that is some pay per click landing page. Not the same company. They make money if you click on any of the ads they have on their page.
My first impression of the site is that it isn’t all that grabby and attention getting. However, looking back at all the glossy websites that try to promote the same things, they’re just a bunch of scams who don’t really provide valuable resources. They’re usually just there for your monthly installment or to get your credit card number on the sly so they can charge you for the monthly installments. This one has a one time fee and does not charge you any monthly installments (for now, though the program is rumored to change and those who sign up later may need to pay a monthly fee).
The Truth of the Site
There were so many resources I was blown away. I’ve been on the Internet toodling around for something to do at home as far back as when I was pregnant with my first son who is almost nine. I have read and seen the scams like the rest of you wanna be at home workers. Here’s the difference: this lays out your resources and the step by step instructions to get started right away. The information is all in one place.
If you’ve been searching for a way to make great money working at home, you probably have a dozen bookmarked pages that you diligently peruse in hopes of finding that one position that will give you the autonomous lifestyle of Carrie Bradshaw on Sex in the City. This is a much easier way to focus your efforts and find something that is suitable for your needs.
Please note: You should take the time to read the welcoming paragraph since it will give you a good idea of the layout and a plan of action which will help you to navigate their resources best. And before you dive in head first, on the members’ home page as well, there are intensive training programs provided by My Data Team that will help you prepare for your data entry work and to make great money doing this at home. Then there’s the home typing which is about creating content or writing articles for web sites. It’s common knowledge that there’s lots of money to be made for those who can produce compelling, unique content. From what I can determine, intensive training is provided for all of these areas mentioned.
Other Useful Program Parts
This program does not skimp on quantity. It’s like getting a buffet of all you can handle work at home training and resources. If you’ve had a rough time breaking into the business, then this resource is a great way to get you started.
Their global data entry section will show you how to set yourself up as an affiliate for lucrative programs. I know you hear and see people do it all the time, but this is a turnkey operation which will deliver products to you digitally. You choose the companies you wish to promote and you promote the affiliate link you are provided (which you are trained on in section 2).
Their ‘Section 2′ provides free resources as well as some paid areas for you to promote your products. It’s not really anything that’s leading or new, but it’s still useful. My personal take is that you probably already know the best areas to promote, however, since you are not intuitively trained to think like this on a consistent basis, you are not seeing what’s right there in front of you. Places like FaceBook (even with the latest TOS scandal), MySpace, YouTube, and Twitter are ever growing in it’s social advertising effectiveness.
However, My Data Team will show you how to get you information on CraigsList the proper way (since you can so easily get kicked out of their ad space), which is a highly valuable tool for any business you run. They also delve into areas such as article submitting. When articles are submitted properly, this is an very profitable and powerful promotion method. In order to gain high amounts of exposure to get yourself traction and to earn money quickly, you will need this comprehensive article submitter program. That alone will be worth the fee you pay to join. If you’ve ever tried to submit your articles one at a time, you know how cumbersome and discouraging the process is.
Do it Properly and Make Great Money!!!
Though I wouldn’t actually call them traditional, there’s an abundance of work in their traditional data entry and at home typing areas. Just the great amount of resources they provide in these sections again will pay for the fee.
Unfortunately, as this review has gotten way too long already, let me say this: there’s so much information I can’t begin to cover in this type of an article. My Data Team has by far shown the best WAH resources I’ve ever found and with out all the scams usually associated with such programs.
